Job Description: The Local Government Affairs Director (GAD) is an advocate for Heartland members on matters of legislative and regulatory policy. This position is responsible for sharing the Illinois REALTORS Legislative Agenda, which includes monitoring key real estate issues related to private property rights and advancing affordable homeownership, in addition to, identifying, understanding, and presenting recommendations concerning policy issues. Interaction and strong relationships with elected officials at all levels of government and their staffs is significant in being successful in this role. The GAD reports on activity to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Government Affairs Committee Members.
